This Privacy Policy explains how Expense Tracker by Kuat Coding Lab handles information when you use the app. The app is designed to keep your financial data on your device by default, with optional Google sign-in and cloud backup.

Information We Process
1. Information stored locally on your device
When you use the app without cloud backup, the app stores data locally on your device, including:
- transactions
- categories
- recurring plans
- planner settings
- theme, language, and currency preferences
- cached exchange rates
This local data is stored using on-device app storage.
2. Google sign-in information
If you choose to sign in with Google, the app may receive:
- your Google account email address
- your Google/Firebase user ID
- your display name
- your profile photo URL
This information is used to authenticate you and associate your cloud backup with your account.
3. Cloud backup data
If you enable Google sign-in and cloud backup, the app may upload a backup payload that can include:
- transactions
- categories
- recurring plans
- planner settings and related backup content
The current Android app uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore for this optional backup flow.
4. Exchange-rate requests
The app may request currency exchange rates from a remote HTTPS exchange-rate service provider.
Like most web requests, this may involve standard network metadata handled by hosting and network infrastructure.
How We Use Information
- show and manage your transactions, categories, and plans
- sign you in with Google when you choose to do so
- back up and restore your data when cloud backup is enabled
- retrieve exchange rates for currency conversion features
- keep the app functioning and synchronized across your own devices when you use backup
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may transfer data only as needed to operate the app features you choose to use:
- Google / Firebase for authentication and optional cloud backup
- the exchange-rate service provider to retrieve currency data
Data Retention
- Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Optional cloud backup data may remain associated with your signed-in account until it is overwritten or deleted through developer support handling.
Security
The app uses HTTPS for current remote network communication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but reasonable steps are used to reduce risk.
Children's Privacy
This app is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When that happens, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated.
